A perfect blend of sweet and smoky flavors, this BBQ Chicken Pizza is a fan favorite, topped with tender chicken, red onions, and cilantro.
Ingredients
1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup BBQ sauce, plus extra for drizzling
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup smoked gouda cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat as well.
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. If using a pizza stone, prepare the dough on a pizza peel sprinkled with cornmeal; otherwise, prepare it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Distribute the shredded chicken and sliced red onions over the sauce. Top with both types of cheese.
Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven or pizza stone and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with chopped cilantro and an additional drizzle of BBQ sauce.
