Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • Taco seasoning (1 packet or homemade blend)
  • 12 taco shells (hard or soft)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Sour cream (for topping)
  • Salsa (for topping)
  • Guacamole (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add the taco seasoning to the meat according to the package instructions, typically mixing with a little water and simmering until thickened.
  3. While the meat is cooking, prepare your taco shells according to package instructions for either baking or heating in the microwave.
  4. Assemble the tacos: Start with the seasoned meat as the base, then add toppings like lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños as desired.
  5. Top each taco with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole according to personal preference.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the fun of building your own tacos at the dinner table!
