Beef and Brocolli
Ingredients
- Beef Strips
- Brocolli
- Paprika
- White Rice
- Red Pepper Flakes
- Siracha
- 1 White Onion
- Onion Powder
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- Vegetable or Olive Oil
Instructions
- Slice your beef if it’s not already sliced into slices.
- You will want a whole onion for this. Cut your onion in half. Take these 2 halves and cut strips, wide large strips. You probably only need to cut out about 4-5 strips for each onion side to get nice large onion chunks.
- Take 4 heads of broccoli, rinse them very well and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
- Prepare some rice in your rice cooker.
- Heat up your wok or frying pan with 2 tablespoons of oil and put in beef. Make sure your heat is on high. Season your beef with salt, pepper, a liberal shaking of paprika on all the meat’s surface and some red pepper flakes. This dish is excellent when its made with a good amount of paprika. Once the beef is nicely browned on as many sides as possible toss in a bit of garlic. Fry it up with the garlic and remove to a plate.
- Now it’s time for the vegetables. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil or vegetable oil to your wok or pan and heat until smoking point. Add in the broccoli and the onions all at once. Preferably put the onions in the wok or pan each half flat side down kept as whole as possible. Let that sear up and get some nice flavanoid build-up on it. While that’s frying up in the pan salt and pepper it and add a good amount of paprika.
- Once the vegetables are cooked to your linking toss the beef strips back into the pan along with the vegetables. Add in about 2 tablespoons of garlic, a bit more pepper and paprika as well as a few squeezes of siracha to taste.
- Time to serve. Serve this on top of a bed of white rice. Delicious. Enjoy!
