French Bread Pizza

Quick and easy French Bread Pizza, perfect for a weeknight dinner or as a fun cooking activity with kids. Customize with your favorite toppings!

Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf of French bread
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, cooked sausage, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Italian seasoning or dried herbs (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and then crosswise, creating four pieces. Place them cut side up on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush the cut surfaces of the bread lightly with olive oil.
  4. Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce over each bread half.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  6. Add your choice of toppings.
  7. Season with Italian seasoning or dried herbs if using.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
  10. Serve hot, cut into slices.
