French Bread Pizza
Quick and easy French Bread Pizza, perfect for a weeknight dinner or as a fun cooking activity with kids. Customize with your favorite toppings!
Ingredients
- 1 large loaf of French bread
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional toppings: pepperoni, cooked sausage, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives
- Olive oil for brushing
- Italian seasoning or dried herbs (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and then crosswise, creating four pieces. Place them cut side up on a baking sheet.
- Brush the cut surfaces of the bread lightly with olive oil.
- Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce over each bread half.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
- Add your choice of toppings.
- Season with Italian seasoning or dried herbs if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
- Serve hot, cut into slices.
