Flax Seed Crackers Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole flax seeds
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, or Italian seasoning for extra flavor

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flax seeds, chia seeds (if using), and salt. Add the water and stir until the mixture becomes gel-like, about 5 minutes. This allows the seeds to absorb the water and form a dough-like consistency.
3. Place the mixture between two sheets of parchment paper and roll out to about 1/8 inch thick. Remove the top sheet of parchment paper.
4. If desired, sprinkle additional seasonings over the top for added flavor.
5. Cut the rolled-out dough into cracker-sized pieces using a knife or pizza cutter.
6. Transfer the parchment paper with the crackers onto a baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes or until crispy and lightly browned. The baking time may vary based on thickness, so keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
7. Let the crackers cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then break them along the pre-cut lines.
